The English in Britain Accreditation Scheme is run by three different organisations:
The scheme is open to all education establishments that offer English as a Foreign Language courses. Currently, there are about 300 accredited organisations.
It is very important to note that the scheme is voluntary. Language schools do NOT have to be inspected in order to call themselves a language school! Anyone in the UK can set up a business and call it a language school - so you must be careful when choosing your course. The inspection looks at teaching services, premises, student welfare, and staff welfare. Its aims are to:
