Description
|
Exeter is an historic cathedral and university city. It has a rich heritage
of buildings and landmarks, despite having a quarter of the city centre
destroyed in the Second World War. You can still see the medieval Cathedral,
the City Walls built by the Romans, and evidence of the prosperity of the
city from the 17th century

Exeter has a modern shopping centre with a large selection of high street
shops, craft and antique shops. There is a triple screen Odeon cinema, three
theatres and the University has a theatre, too. There is a wide variety of
pubs, bars and night clubs. The sea is close to Exeter for watersports and
there is a horse racing course, greyhound racing and a speedway track |
