The area that borders England and Scotland is known, on the Scottish side - appropriately enough, as the Scottish Borders.

England - Scottish Boders Stone Scotland - Scottish Boders Stone

An area of outstanding countryside and hospitality, the Scottish Borders covers 1,800 square miles (approx 4,700 square kilometres) through rolling hills, moorland, rocky coastlines, agricultural plains, and picturesque fishing villages.

This is a do-it-all or relax-and-do-very-little area. The choice is yours. From golf, to diving, clay pigeon shooting, ballooning, fishing, canoeing, walking, horse riding, museums, crafts, 4x4, gardens, or visitor attractions - the choice is almost limitless. But the things that will probably impress you the most are the stunningly beautiful scenery and the warmth of the welcome extended by the people of the area.

Marketed as a short-break destination, the Borders is a great area to visit. Further information can be obtained from the extensive tourist website www.scot-borders.co.uk, providing more detail than we cold possibly cover in these pages - including details of accommodation, places to visit, and current events.
